Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta spaghetti, linguine, fettuccine, or penne
  • 1 tbsp butter or olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups milk whole milk preferred
  • 1 cup water or broth vegetable broth recommended
  • 3/4 cup Parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Optional Add-ins

  • 2 tbsp cream cheese or sour cream
  • fresh parsley or basil for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Melt butter or warm olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté 1–2 minutes until fragrant but not brown.
  • Add dry pasta, milk, and water or broth. Stir well to prevent sticking. Bring to a gentle boil do not use high heat.
  • Reduce heat to a low simmer. Cook uncovered for 8–10 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes, until pasta is al dente and sauce thickens.
  • Remove from heat. Stir in Parmesan, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Add optional cream cheese or sour cream for extra richness.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley or basil and serve immediately.

Notes

For added protein, stir in cooked shredded chicken or sautéed shrimp at the end. Add spinach, peas, or sun-dried tomatoes for a veggie boost. Adjust consistency with a splash of milk if reheating leftovers.
