Ingredients
  

Sandwich Ingredients

  • 4 slices thick white bread like Texas toast or similar
  • 2 slices sharp cheddar cheese sliced thinly
  • 2-4 slices additional melty cheese such as Swiss, provolone, American, Monterey Jack, Gruyere, Fontina or Havarti
  • butter for spreading on bread

Instructions
 

  • Preheat air fryer to 370°F (188°C).
  • Butter the outsides of each slice of bread.
  • Assemble sandwiches by placing cheese between two slices of buttered bread (buttered sides facing out). Secure with a toothpick if needed.
  • Place sandwiches in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  • Air fry at 370°F for 5–6 minutes, flipping once halfway through, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  • Remove toothpicks and serve warm.

Notes

Use thicker bread for best results, and experiment with different melty cheeses to vary the flavor. Optional add-ins include ham or mayo inside the sandwich before air frying.
